“This feeling of flying is unique”: we tested the depths of the Antony diving pit

Reopened a week ago, the diving area at the Pajeaud Aquatic Center is already attracting around a hundred clubs. This demonstrates the appeal of this pool, as this type of facility is rare in the Île-de-France region. We tested it with the Antony Subaquatique association.
By Marjorie LenhardtThe water is 30 degrees, the air 27 degrees. Ideal temperatures for diving. The Antony dive pit (Hauts-de-Seine) reopened on May 12, to the delight of the clubs. And for good reason: the city-owned facility had closed in 2020, barely two years after its inauguration , due to a leak linked to poor tiling. Around a hundred associations from the region and even from Deauville (Calvados) have already expressed interest in training there.
It must be said that in the Île-de-France region, spaces are at a premium. To practice at a depth of 20 meters, facilities are rare. Only those in Villeneuve-la-Garenne (Hauts-de-Seine), Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines), and Lagny-sur-Marne (Seine-et-Marne) allow you to go that deep. The Argenteuil pit (Val-d'Oise) stops at 10 meters, and the one in Charenton-le-Pont (Val-de-Marne), which is still closed, at 15 meters.
